ELECT A MAYOR PRO-TEM. (Fred Evans was elected Mayor Pro-Tem for 2009.)
COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS
Ted Strickland, City Manager manages the “day to day” operations for the City for last 20 years
Ray Gibson, Assistant City Manager this is a new position.
Merle Manders, City Clerk has maintained City records for 35 years.
Nancy Brown Deputy - Clerk Treasurer/Finance Director for 20 years assists the City Clerk in maintaining City records especially the budget and finance side.
A. J. Welch, City Attorney, Smith, Welch & Brittain, LLP has been City’s legal concerns for 37 years.
W. Donnie Patten, Jr., Municipal Judge for 4 years has presided over the City Court
Clay Davis, Municipal Court Associate Judge
Edythe S. Whitaker, City Solicitor for 4 years has prosecuted traffic, parking and misdemeanor cases within the City limits.

CITY CLERK, CITY TREASURER, CITY ATTORNEY, MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE, MUNICIPAL ASSOCIATE JUDGE, SOLICITOR, ASSOCIATE SOLICITOR, CITY ENGINEER, CITY SURVEYOR, CITY AUDITOR APPOINTMENT RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZATION OF THE CITY OF STOCKBRIDGE TO CONTRACT FOR FUNDING FOR CONSTRUCTION OF REEVES CREEK TRAIL AND GREENWAY TRAIL. THE PROJECT WOULD PROVIDE A 10 FOOT WIDE HARD SURFACE TRAIL THAT WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATELY TO THE EAST OF FLIPPEN ROAD, PROCEEDING EAST TO THE NORTH OF REEVES CREEK, CROSSING AT TYE STREET AND CONTINUING TO DABNEY-HUNTER-SIMMONS PARK. THE PROJECT IS APPROXIMATELY 1.3 MILE IN LENGTH.

AGREEMENT FOR TRANSPORTATION ENHANCMENT ACTIVITIES BETWEEN DOT STATE OF GA AND THE CITY OF STOCKBRIDGE. AGREEMENT
SETTLEMENT RESOLUTIONS – PENDING CASES, MARION GRAMM, SARA CLARY AND HAROLD THURMAN. RESOLUTION
BUSINESS LICENCES
RAMONE PRESTION, 4721 NORTH HENRY BLVD – is requesting a license to establish a business that offers vocational/educational/economic development for Henry County surrounding communities. Approval from Council is routine for a ministry related business.
ROBERT WILSON, 1400 HUDSON BRIDGE ROAD – Is requesting a business license to operate a jewelry store that not only sells jewelry but buys back jewelry from the public. The Business License Clerk and City Code Enforcement Officer explained the parameters of retail jewelry store business within the city limits of Stockbridge.
Mr. Wilson chose to make his request before Council.
SANDRA MASON, HIGHLAND FOODMART 2240 HWY 42 – is requesting an alcohol license for a convenience store to sell packaged beer and wine on the premises. Ms. Mason has submitted the application. Inspections are pending. Approval from Council is routine for a business that sells beer/wine/alcohol.

JANUARY 11, 2010
The Regular Meeting of the Stockbridge City Council was held on January 11, 2010 at 6:00 P. M. Mayor Lee Stuart presided and Council members present were Harold Cochran, Fred Evans, Mark Alarcon, Kathryn Gilbert and Shirley Dabney.
Mark Alarcon made a motion to convene; Kathryn Gilbert seconded, and passed unanimously.
Reverend Edwards gave the Invocation.
Mayor Stuart led the congregation in the Pledge of Allegiance.
THE CITY CLERK, MERLE MANDERS GAVE THE OATH OF OFFICE TO THE NEW CITY OFFICIALS.

Kathryn Gilbert made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 14, 2009 regular Council Meeting; Shirley Dabney seconded, and passed unanimously.
