On Monday, August 10, 2015, Alphonso Thomas, Mayor Pro Tem of Stockbridge, GA acknowledged the inter-faith community with a ceremonial Pin of the City.

On Saturday, June 20 2015, the inter-faith community of Stockbridge along with neighboring communities came together on the steps of City Hall for a candlelight prayer vigil following the tragedy in Charleston, South Carolina.

On that evening, while many came from diverse backgrounds, there was one common cause, and that was to unite and pray for healing of the community. Mayor Pro Tem Thomas, along with others, was deeply moved by the message and support where there was triumph over tragedy.

As a gesture of appreciation and support, the participants were invited to City Hall to receive a ceremonial Pin of the City of Stockbridge as a symbol of their on-going dedication and service to the community.

In attendance to receive the ceremonial pins were members of Global Impact Christian Ministries, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Believer’s Authority Christian Ministry, Kelly Chapel, In His Image Christian Ministries, Light of the World, Kingdom Seekers, Victory Tabernacle, Prevailing Purpose Church, Kingdom Harvest Outreach Ministries, Building on Faith Organization, Grace Assembly, The River Church, Knights Monumental AME and Trinity United Methodist Church.
