Stockbridge Receives Wastewater
 Facility Award

Stockbridge, Georgia- August 7, 2019- The City of Stockbridge recently received the Wastewater Facility Gold Award at the Georgia Association of Water Professionals' Annual Spring Conference Expo in Columbus, Georgia. The Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Year Awards, such as the Gold Award, recognize facilities operated by utility or corporate members. Utility members with facilities that had no national pollutant discharge elimination system or pretreatment permit violations during the preceding calendar year were recognized. The City has received the recognition previously as well.

"The City of Stockbridge recently earned the Gold Award from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals, " said Stockbridge Wastewater Superintendent Brad Holtsinger. "The award means that the City’s Water Pollution Control Facility had 100% permit compliance in 2018. The GAWP Gold Award is a very difficult achievement to attain simply because of the many factors involved beyond the control of operators and managers. We are very fortunate to have such dedicated and determined employees who remain focused in protecting our environment."

The Stephen D. Peurifoy Waste Water Treatment Plant of the City of Stockbridge was awarded the Gold Award from the organization.  The Georgia Association of Water Professionals educates, provides professional development and promotes sound public policy in the water resources and related environmental fields.

Stockbridge will celebrate 100 years of cityhood in 2020. The City of Stockbridge continues to strive to be the most progressive business and family oriented community in Metropolitan Atlanta with a strong focus on enhanced quality of life initiatives which promote a sustainable "live, work, play" environment. The City of Stockbridge believes that people are the most valuable asset in delivering services to all citizens.
