The Planning Commission (formerly the Zoning Advisory Board (ZAB)) is responsible for reviewing applications for change in the land use and other items as required by the respective ordinances. The Planning Commission as a whole makes recommendations on zoning changes to the Mayor and Council who make the final decision to approve or deny an applicant’s request during a public hearing on the proposal. The Planning Commission is comprised of six (6) members who are appointed by the City Council.
Board members must reside within the city limits of Stockbridge; be a resident of the United States; be at least 18 years of age; have a high school education or the equivalent; have no felony conviction or be judicially determined to be mentally incompetent (unless disability has been removed). Appointees cannot hold any other public office or position with the City.

The Planning Commission is comprised of six (6) members who are appointed by the City Council. Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Thursday of each month, although a called meeting may take place in rare circumstances.
