2020 Citizens Academy Canceled due to COVID-19

2020 Stockbridge Citizens Academy

Ever wondered how the City of Stockbridge operates across all departments?  Apply to be a part of the Stockbridge Citizens Academy cohort!

The Stockbridge Citizens Academy gives residents an opportunity to become civically engaged by building positive relationships with city government officials while furthering their education on the city’s daily processes. Through the academy, citizens will get a behind-the-scenes look at city operations, have a chance to give feedback that may help the city improve its commitment to the citizens, and become ambassadors for the city in which they live, work, and play.

Learn from city staff during interactive sessions about:

  • City Council and Administration
  • Finance and Human Resources
  • Public Works (including a Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour)
  • Economic Development, Downtown Development
  • Community Development (Planning & Zoning, Building/Permits/Inspections and Code Enforcement)
  • Public Safety (Police, Fire, Sheriff, Emergency Management)
  • Main Street, Historic Preservation
  • Stockbridge Events and Merle Manders Conference Center, Ted Strickland Community Ctr.

The City of Stockbridge Citizens Academy takes place over a 6-week period on Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. consisting of five learning sessions followed by a graduation ceremony.

2020 dates are: 9/3, 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15 and graduation on 10/27.
